WEDDINGS AT THE LAKE

Backpaddock Lakes is without a doubt one of the most unique outdoor venues you’ll find for your wedding in the Hawkes Bay. With picturesque views around the lakes and wetlands, the Ruahine Ranges in the background and wildlife singing, the lakes are the perfect venue to celebrate your big day. Backpaddock Lakes can cater for small, intimate weddings or larger weddings, with the ability to organise just about everything you’ll need. From arranging accommodation in nearby Waipukurau, to catering by local chefs and food artisans, we can help. Backpaddock Lakes has a purpose built event space, which we affectionately call “The Barn” and beautiful lakeside spots to set up a marquee.

THE BARN

Backpaddock Lakes has a specially built barn which can host around 180 guests. The barn overlooks the lakes and has a rustic rural design with large doors to enhance the views. There are a range of options for setting up the barn to suit your style of wedding.

Backpaddock Lakes has space to host your marquee right on the lakeside. This is a great option for larger weddings.

Ceremony

You are welcome to have your ceremony at one of Backpaddock Lakes amazing lakeside locations as part of your venue hire.

On Site Accomodation

We have space available for your family and friends to camp on site at Backpaddock Lakes. Please let us know when you are booking if you would like to camp and we can tailor this into your wedding package.

Services On Site

Backpaddock Lakes is run on generator power and details can be discussed at an arrange site visit.

Access

Our wedding hire prices include access in the days before the wedding for set up, wedding day and morning after pack out. On your wedding day, Backpaddock Lakes is open to the public until 2pm. If you would like to host a ‘Day After’ event at Backpaddock Lakes and utilise the Lake or Cable Park we can extend your hire so you have access the day after your wedding. The Lake is open to the public at the same time so it would be available to you on a shared basis. We can discuss this option further at an arrange site visit.

Backpaddocks Equipment

Backpaddock Lakes is continually improving items available for hire such as tables and bench seats etc.

We do not have plates, cutlery, glassware, linen etc, they will need to be hired in. We have some suggested vendors if required.

Backpaddock Lakes offers free use of festoon lighting, picnic tables and games equipment such as Kubb, Petanque, Croquet.

Catering

Backpaddock Lakes has complete flexibility to whatever style of catering you wish to have at your wedding, we have no onsite caterers. Its up to you if you would like a fully catered sit down meal, food truck or spit. We can suggest options once we know the style of wedding you are after.
