Backpaddock Lakes is one of Hawke’s Bay’s most unique outdoor venues, with picturesque lakes and wetlands, the Ruahine Range as a backdrop, and plenty of space to make a whole weekend of it.

Our dry-hire venue gives you the freedom to create an event your way, with cable wakeboarding, right on your doorstep.

Weddings

Without a doubt, Backpaddock Lakes is one of Hawke’s Bay’s most unique outdoor lakeside wedding venues. Exchange vows beside the lake, celebrate in the Barn beneath the festoon lights, and enjoy accommodation for up to 20 guests on site—with the venue yours for the entire weekend.

Bring your own preferred vendors, caterers and drinks, with tables, chairs and other venue furniture provided to help bring your plans together.

Ideal for corporate functions, staff gatherings and work celebrations. The covered Barn, spacious grounds, outdoor games and optional wakeboarding give your group plenty of room to connect, relax and enjoy the day together.

Christmas parties

Celebrate the end of the year with a relaxed day by the lake. Bring your own caterer and drinks, enjoy outdoor games and wakeboarding, kayaking and paddleboarding, then settle in for a BBQ and drinks as the sun goes down.

With furniture provided, a kitchen, BBQ and bathrooms, plus plenty of space to eat, play and relax, everything is set for an easy end-of-year celebration. The covered Barn also provides a comfortable wet-weather option.
