EVENTS AT THE LAKE

Backpaddock Lakes is without a doubt one of the most unique event venues in the Hawkes Bay. We have the capacity to host large groups for the likes of concerts and birthday parties. The park has a relaxed atmosphere and is easy to get to for safe and exciting, on and off water fun. We have various event locations within Backpaddock Lakes to host your event depending on the size and style.

THE BARN

Backpaddock Lakes has a specially built barn which can host up to 200 seated guests or 400 standing. With open sides and a rustic design, the barn overlooks the Lake. The barn lends itself to a range of events, from dinners, parties, music events or school visits. The barn has bathroom facilities and a full kitchen.

Price for full day event hire starts at $2000 per day.

GREEN SPACES

Backpaddock Lakes has loads of space to host your event right on the Lakeside. We have a few different locations which are ideal for Marquees. This is a great option for larger special events.

Price $1500 per day.

*Marquee hireage fees are additional.

THE FINER DETAILS

Services On Site

Backpaddock Lakes is run on generator power. We will ensure the venue is fully operational for you, however please discuss this with us during your planning as some caterers/food trucks and bands require a higher source of power than what we can provide. In this instance you may require additional generator power at your own cost.

Access

We will arrange access for your event depending on your final hire arrangements. For some events, the lake and cable may still be open to the public at the same time so it would be available to you on a shared basis. We can confirm this as part of your booking confirmation.

Backpaddocks Equipment

Backpaddock Lakes does not have hire equipment, so all tables, chairs, plates, cutlery and glassware will need to be hired in. We have some suggested vendors if needed. Backpaddock Lakes has a range of equipment available which you are welcome to use as part of your event including some festoon lighting, picnic tables and games equipment such as Kubb, Petanque, Croquet and Hole in One Golf.

Catering

Backpaddock Lakes has complete flexibility to whatever style of catering you wish to have at your event so we have no onsite caterers. Its up to you if you would like a fully catered sit down meal, food truck or spit. We can suggest options once we know the style of event you are after. Backpaddock Lakes does not hold a liquor licence, so you would need to arrange your beverages privately and ensure whoever is managing your bar has the necessary licences.
